 INTRODUCTION: Soybean which is also known as “GOLDEN BEAN”.It belong to legume crop family which means it is a member of a pea family.Soybean is an exceptionally nutritive and very rich in protein food.
Soybean can be use to make oil which is the most popular oil in India.
Soy also used ad milk product and available in the form of soy chunks which is also known as “meal maker” in India.
Climatic conditions for soybean farming
  • It grows well in warm and moist climate.
  • A Temperature of 26 to 32 degree Celsius is ideal for growing this crop.
  • Soil temperature of 16 degree Celsius or above supports the seedling growth and rapid germination .
  • Lower temperature may cause the delay the flowering.

It requires well drained and fertile loamy soil with pH range between
6.0 to 7.5 are most favorable condition for soy seed germination. Water
logging damages the crop so we should maintain drainage system during rainy season.
