There is no comparison to the taste and aroma of Indian street food. There are dozens of street foods including Aloo Chaat, Chaat-Pakodas, Samosa, Fail, Aloo Tikki, Golgappa, whose name makes the mouth water. The taste of these street foods is such that one does not feel satisfied after eating them again and again. Our country is known for diversity. There is diversity in dialect, language, culture as well as food in the 28 states and 8 union territories of India. There is something special in every city of India. For example, Mumbai is known for Vada Pav, Delhi for Samosas and Kolkata for Kathi Roll. Somewhere the street food is grilled on an open flame, somewhere it is cooked by deep frying, some dish is eaten cold, some dish is eaten on the street corner and somewhere while standing in a long line, the taste of all is better than the other.

·       Vada pav

Vada Pav, which looks like a burger, is an Indian version of it, which is very much liked by the people of Maharashtra. You can imagine that Mumbaikars can eat Vada Pav morning and evening, day and night. A fried potato dumpling called batata vada is placed in the middle of the bun. And to make it taste better, spices like chutney and fried green chillies are also added to it. It is a famous snack food of Maharashtra and some other names in the list include Misal Pav, Pav Bhaji and Kande Pohe.

·       Aloo tikki

Everything is incomplete without delicious Aloo Tikki. Although its exact origin is unknown, you can find it in every corner of the country. It doesn't matter whether you get any other street food item or not, Tikki is something that will catch your glimpse every time you are on a street food tour. Mashed potatoes are mixed with spices and fried to get hot and crispy tikkis. Sometimes served with tamarind chutney and sometimes with the combo of tamarind and mint, this dish is a treasure of taste. There are some vendors who decorate the dish with red color and onions to further enhance its taste.

·       Chola bhatura

Chole Bhature is one of the most popular Punjabi dish enjoyed almost all over India.  Chole means spicy spicy chickpea curry and Bhatura is a soft and fluffy fried yeast bread.  Chola Bhatura always turns out to be a delicious and filling meal.  In this recipe post, I have included step-by-step pictures of making both chana curry and instant bhatura without yeas.  It is a spicy, delicious and filling dish.  I have eaten this dish at many places in Punjab and Delhi.  Every restaurant or dhaba (eatery on highways) has its own flavor and taste of gram curry. At some places the curry is very spicy, at other places it has a spicy taste and the consistency of the curry also varies from slightly thick to semi-dry and dry. This recipe has a spicy taste.  This is my mother's recipe and unlike other versions of chana curry recipe posted on the blog, it has a comforting taste and flavour.  It doesn't taste like the restaurant or dhaba version but the taste is very good.
